Program
A pedestrian crossing from Anapra (Ciudad Juárez) to Sunland Park, New Mexico, at the intersection of the international line and the main thoroughfare of Anapra, with immigration control stations on either side. The stations will work together to provide security to pedestrians crossing legally. Unlike most border crossings with their heavy circulation of vehicular traffic, this one will only serve pedestrians. There will be a bus station and parking lot on either side of the border.

VISION AKUREYRI ICELAND COMPETITION

The competition is held in cooperation with the Association of Icelandic Architects (AÍ) on the basis of this competition brief and the AÍ competition rules. Anyone can participate and entries are due by March 1st, 2005. The town center of Akureyri has been declining with commerce and services moving away as the town has expanded. There are a number of development opportunities that could be instrumental in revitalizing the town center. The competition is intended to get new ideas on how to use these opportunities in an original way, based on the town’s existing assets. Obtaining new ideas on additional housing, shopping and services for the town center is part of the competition’s purpose.

International Roca Design Competition

The hotel bathroom of the future

Roca aims to launch a platform for young creative people, giving them the opportunity and freedom to design a personal environment related to the hotel bathroom of the future. The competition seeks to receive conceptual and innovative proposals without any constraints for further production

Extreme, UIA 2005 Istanbul Student Competition


Student Competition

The XXII World Congress of Architecture of the International Union of Architects will convene in July 2005 in Istanbul and will be hosted by the Chamber of Architects of Turkey.
An international student competition with a UNESCO grand prize is being organized on this occasion.
The Scientific Committee of the Congress has chosen "EXTREME" CREATING SPACE IN EXTREME AND EXTRAORDINARY CONDITIONS as the theme of the competition.

The competition aims to provide an opportunity to the future architects to exercise their creative powers in the face of challenging conditions by designing spaces for different functions chosen by them at places which are extraordinary in terms of their geographic location, topography, flora, climate, social, economical and political conditions.

any idea of what’s ‘cool’? -

adolescent essence is of pop and rock, music videos and I pods,
fashion, arts, film dvds, on-line chats, instant messaging, hanging out with friends ...
in may 2004 time magazine had the question ‘what makes teenagers tick’.
the article delves into the physiological changes that take place in this age group -
... in short: hormones and structural changes in the brain cause unpredictable,
incomprehensible mood swings and an inner conviction of 'knowing it all'.
this is your typical household 'teenager' (age 12-18).

we are seeking design ideas for furniture for the places where teenagers
study, relax and socialize. we are in pursuit of designs which compliment and
sum up contemporary living and technology.
furniture that is multifunctional yet personal.
a broad range of materials are accepted.

awards:
the designers of 10 winning entries will be granted with cash prize awards
- first prize Euro 3000
- second prize Euro 2000
- third prize Euro 1000
and the jury will award 7 honorable mentions with Euro 500 each.

we ask you to create your Beck's outlet of 200 square metres (10mtx20mt).
with many functions - it can be used in different ways:

from a nightclub to a multifunctional creative laboratory which can
host exhibitions. your Beck's bar - where mainly beer is served and where
it is easy to socialize, have fun, make new friends... -

awards:
- a first prize will be awarded EURO 5.000 + supply of BECK'S beer for
