Schindler Award
We want to inform you that the application closing date for the third Schindler Award for Architecture "Access for All" 2007/2008 themed "To Reclaim the Public Ground" is coming to an end.
The closing date for applications is April 25, 2008. We kindly ask you to apply by filling in the online application form on the Schindler Award website. A DVD containing all relevant working materials related to the Schindler Award 2007/2008 will then be sent to the responsible professor.
The “Access for All” principle is based on finding solutions for everyone rather than concentrating only on measures for specific forms of disability. For Schindler, this means planning and construction according to the “Design for All” philosophy.

PRÉMIO INTERNACIONAL TEKTÓNICA'08
No âmbito de mais uma Feira da Construção e Obras Públicas, a decorrer de 20 a 24 de Maio em Lisboa, a Ordem dos Arquitectos, em parceria com a Feira Internacional de Lisboa divulga o Regulamento do Prémio Internacional Tektónica.
In the course of another Feira da Construção e Obras Públicas [Construction Materials and Public Works Show], which will take place from the 20th to the 24th of March in Lisbon, the Architects Association affiliated with Feira Internacional de Lisboa, launches the rules for the Tektónica International Prize.
O tema da presente edição é a criação de uma Aldeia Itinerante para uma comunidade Verde.
A proposta de tema para a presente edição do Prémio Tektónica visa a criação de uma aldeia itinerante, sustentável, auto-suficiente para uma comunidade nómada, que levará a cabo várias acções de sensibilização sobre a importância do nosso património natural ao longo da costa e a necessidade de o proteger permanentemente.
As acções desenvolvidas poderão ser entre outras:
1. Reuniões de sensibilização das populações [envolvimento das comunidades mais jovens e da terceira idade];
2. Limpeza, recolha e tratamento de resíduos;
3. Diversas actividades socioculturais [espectáculos de música, teatro, concursos de ideias, etc.].
A aldeia itinerante para esta comunidade verde irá percorrer durante os meses de Junho, Julho, Agosto e Setembro, de Norte a Sul, de Oeste a Este, toda a costa litoral, integrando um grupo rotativo e heterogéneo de 20 pessoas. (...)

Call for Ideas - White House Redux
What if the White House, the ultimate architectural symbol of political power, were to be designed today? On occasion of the election of the 44th President of the United States of America, Storefront for Art and Architecture, in association with Control Group, challenge you to design a new residence for the world's most powerful individual. The best ideas, designs, descriptions, images, and videos will be selected by some of the world's most distinguished designers and critics and featured in a month-long exhibition at Storefront for Art and Architecture in July 2008. All three winners will be flown to New York to collect their prizes at the opening party.

Giros Festival
Com o objectivo de promover a criação literária e artística, a APNA- associação de promoção de novos artistas, lança nove concursos com candidaturas até ao dia 20 de Abril de 2008.
É objectivo deste concurso promover e consolidar a leitura de poesia e a criatividade nas categorias de: pintura, escultura, fotografia, cinema, teatro, música, dança e moda.
Os trabalhos a concurso deverão ser entregues, em mão ou via correio, até às 18h00 do dia 20 de Abril de 2008, nas instalações da APNA, no Edifício do Paço, Loja A1, 4620-091 Casais, Lousada, durante o horário do expediente – de segunda a sexta-feira das 10h00-12h30/14h00-18h00.
Todas as categorias têm como tema “ Candy”. Todos os autores têm que
preencher uma ficha de inscrição.
