Schindler Award for Architecture "Access for All" 2007/2008

There are still too many barriers for people with disabilities. To eliminate these barriers requires a change of thinking. The Schindler Award is a small step towards what we hope will become a significant change. >>

The “Access for All” principle is based on finding solutions for everyone rather than concentrating only on measures for specific forms of disability. For Schindler, this means planning and construction according to the “Design for All” philosophy.>>

The Austrian capital, Vienna, has been chosen as the competition site of the third Schindler Award for Architecture "Access for All" 2007/08. After reviewing several sites, the core jury under its president, Prof. Françoise-Hélène Jourda, assisted by the competition management team at Nuesch Development, selected a site which poses a challenging task.>>
